Services - Respite Care
Caregivers faced with the challenging job of caring for troubled youth often find it difficult to access quality resources to assist with day-to-day care. Caregiving is a demanding task. Caregivers need time off from their responsibilities to relieve stress and prevent burnout.
Respite Care is a planned intervention. Effective, sustainable caregiving depends on meeting the caregiver's own needs for nurture, reassurance, support and periodic respite. Trained foster families work with the youth’s family and other care providers to develop and implement a plan for the youth and the family, foster, and other. Respite Care is available at all The Village Network locations.
In crisis situations, The Village Network’s large Treatment Foster Care network allows for emergency and transitional respite care.
